Goldfrapp at the Dome
Hey, I've just got back from the Goldfrapp gig, and what a good gig it was! Just like Heather on Friday night, it was another perfect mix of songs and visuals. Starting with Utopia and ending with Black Cherry, the band crammed in a healthy selection of tunes from all three of their albums to date. Whilst lacking much in the way of banter with the crowd, Alison Goldfrapp still commands attention and reminded us of early Kate Bush with her flamboyant performance and soaring vocals. Stand out tracks for me were Strict Machine and Ride A White Horse, the latter accompanied by a couple of dancers wearing sparkly horses heads! The four dancers also appeared during other songs dressed in only their underwear, or in one-piece futuristic body suits, all very seventies Top Of The Pops I thought. Within fifteen minutes of the concert's finish the live recording was available to buy on double CD in the foyer - a pretty cool idea, despite the rather steep asking price (£20). If you missed out and fancy buying or downloading a copy, then it's available at www.liveherenow.co.uk
