Thursday 19/06/03 by Phil Newton

The afro wig Lucy's just bought is this big, really! Meanwhile back home preparations are going well for my Big Brother eviction night party. There is food, there is alcohol, and there is a broom handle for us to spin around in the garden when we've all had too much to drink!

Wednesday 18/06/03 by Phil Newton

Come on Lucy, what we need is a huge big afro wig for my party on Friday night, can you help? This also marks the debut appearance of our new Box Office uniform - the red polo shirts / short sleeved shirts. You'll be seeing a lot more of them from now on.

Tuesday 17/06/03 by Debbie Page

Bennett's been back in the basement and look what he's found - Top Trumps! Big Brother is going for the double eviction this week, did you think it was going to be Jon and Federico? I didn't.

Monday 16/06/03 by Bev Parke

"Hello I'm Karen, and I am your Duty Manager today. Yes, I am proudly holding a banana in my right hand, what of it?" I love Cotton's puzzled expression in the background.

Sunday 15/06/03 by Phil Newton

It must be a hot afternoon if I'm sitting in the garden wearing shorts. Let's take a minute to enjoy these surroundings... by this time next week that birdbath will be in pieces and those bushes will be flattened by a drunken farm boy running around with a blanket over his head.

Saturday 14/06/03 by Dominic Plucknett

The French market hits New Road this weekend so the road is closed to traffic and full of stalls selling fresh bread, meats and cheeses. It makes our lunchtime sandwich run that much easier and Dom doesn't stop eating all day.

Friday 13/06/03 by Phil Newton

It's amazing what junk you can find down in the basement of Gary's shop these days. Here's my old mate Stephen who's just returned from India and is now lending a hand to help catalogue all the videos. I can see 5 copies of The Silence Of The Lambs for starters.

Thursday 12/06/03 by Bev Parke

Yes I'll just stand here whilst Dom does all the work.

Wednesday 11/06/03 by Lucy Tharme

Have you noticed how my desk seems to have its own micro gravity field which pulls all sweets, cakes and biscuits to it? I swear these Hob Nobs are not mine. Not that I'm complaining, don't get me wrong.

Tuesday 10/06/03 by Debbie Page

No, it's too late I've spotted the whiteboard now and that means only one thing - Big Brother is on our TV screens again. With the break between football seasons we need to find something else to satisfy our gambling needs, and sadly Big Brother is it. Even sadder, I am the ringleader.

Monday 09/06/03 by Bev Parke

We're all looking a bit shifty today. Cotton's trying to psych out the camera, Bennett seems to have transformed into Ross Noble, whilst I'm just fixated on something amusing at the front counter. And that pesky shirt has surfaced again!

Sunday 08/06/03 by Phil Newton

More trashy movies as I'm watching Jason X on DVD. The most scary thing about it was that it ever got made in the first place. Next thing you know they'll be putting Jason Vorhees and Freddy Kruger in the same movie... and I'll still end up watching the damn thing!

Saturday 07/06/03 by Phil Newton

Saturday afternoon shenanigans with Lucy and Debbie. It's been a tough old week hasn't it?

Friday, June 06, 2003

Friday 06/06/03 by Debbie Page

Can I get back to reading my book now please?

Thursday 05/06/03 by Phil Newton

I quite like this shot of me having a leisurely afternoon shave.

Wednesday 04/06/03 by Jim Turner

Ahhh, the bad old days before I was given my very own personal log-in, Outlook and internet access. Here I am hijacking Bev's PC so that I can check my personal emails.

Tuesday 03/06/03 by Steve Bennett

Now I've come to bother Bennett for a while.

Monday 02/06/03 by Dominic Plucknett

June is traditionally a quieter month for us in the Box Office. Bands tend to tour in Spring and late Autumn when they've new material to promote, so Summer ends up populated by the big music festivals instead. Here I am letting Polly do all the hard work.

Sunday 01/06/03 by Phil Newton

I'm watching the Monaco Grand Prix this afternoon. Juan-Pablo Montoya races home the winner.

Saturday 31/05/03 by Steve Cotton

Dom's taken the day off for his birthday, so I'm looking rather bored in the back office with the two Steves. Bennett is looking a bit nervous here, maybe Cotton has threatened to send him through that door and down into the basement?

Friday 30/05/03 by Polly Cole

See I'm smiling again now that my hair has returned to its normal state. It's Dom's birthday tomorrow so I'm busy scribbling something rude in his birthday card.

Thursday 29/05/03 by Bev Parke

This evil look can mean only one thing - it's time to process season tickets for the forthcoming BHPS concerts! In fact it's a look so evil it has made all my hair stand on end. The ill-advised hair-gel look was very short lived, thankfully.

Wednesday 28/05/03 by Phil Newton

At home with my mate Rich, my regular movie-going companion. Today we're catching up with the DVD of Monkeybone starring Brendan Fraser. It's not that bad, honest!

Tuesday 27/05/03 by Steve Bennett

Fresh back from seeing Bjork last night (spot the cheap bootleg t-shirt) it's time to present Dom with his Champion's medal for winning our Fantasy Football competition. Congratulations Dom! Hope your team sucks next season.

Monday 26/05/03 by Phil Newton

Bank Holiday Monday then. I awake with a hangover after last night's end of Festival party at the Sussex Arts Club, and later, the Pavilion Bar. I now have to sober up in time to get the train up to London again, this time to see Bjork at Shepherds Bush Empire.

Sunday, May 25, 2003

Sunday 25/05/03 by Lucy Tharme

The Brighton Festival is over for another year! The boys celebrate! I notice Dom also manages a subtle point towards our Fantasy Football league table where he has just been crowned this year's winner. Bah!

Saturday 24/05/03 by Zoe Curtis

Our other House Manager, Zoe, goes for a different angle whilst she's caught passing through our office. Jim quicky dives into shot.

Friday, May 23, 2003

Friday 23/05/03 by Lucy Tharme

Polly goes for a shameless plug for the forthcoming Adur Festival but is thwarted by the glare on the lens. I am too busy getting ready to leave work early as I'm dashing up to London to see The Dandy Warhols at Brixton Academy.

Thursday, May 22, 2003

Thursday 22/05/03 by Debbie Page

Debbie and I foolishly venture down into the basement underneath the Box Office to have a look around. Typically it isn't long before Bennett turns all the lights out.

Wednesday 21/05/03 by Gary Jackman

Quite why I'm checking my watch when it's so obviously 3pm, I don't quite know. Dave must be late for work.

Tuesday, May 20, 2003

Tuesday 20/05/03 by Brenda Liethead

A rather large pair of blue sunglasses have come into my possession. These are either Dom's, Jim's or some poor customer who left them on the front counter. Any takers?

Monday, May 19, 2003

Monday 19/05/03 by Polly Cole

Missing 6/6. I'm lurking in the back office when Bennett comes up with the amusing idea of placing a couple of circular Festival stickers over my eyes. But yet again Truprint ensure that we can't enjoy that image. Don't forget folks, don't use Truprint, they're crap!

Sunday, May 18, 2003

Sunday 18/05/03 by Darren Marks

Time for another 3pm performance round in the Pavilion Theatre. Darren is Duty Manager this afternoon. He has since joined the Box Office team.

Saturday, May 17, 2003

Saturday 17/05/03 by Debbie Page

Debbie and I ignore the FA Cup final between Arsenal and Southampton and see how close we can get to the camera instead.

Friday, May 16, 2003

Friday 16/05/03 by Bev Parke

Brenda tries every trick in the book to shake off her caller so that she can get back to reading The Argus.

Thursday, May 15, 2003

Thursday 15/05/03 by Brenda Liethead

Excuse me Sir, would you mind holding whilst I stick my tongue out at Brenda? Thank you.

Wednesday, May 14, 2003

Wednesday 14/05/03 by Phil Newton

Missing 5/6. I'm lounging about on the sofa and take my own picture from above. But thanks to Truprint we can't see it. Did I mention that I'm not happy with Truprint's idea of customer service?

Tuesday, May 13, 2003

Tuesday 13/05/03 by Dave Leggatt

Missing 4/6. Dave is back in HD2 working the afternoon shifts at Gary's shop. I am scouring the DVD racks for something to borrow. Truprint ruin another picture.

Monday, May 12, 2003

Monday 12/05/03 by Lucy Tharme

That counter could do with a bit of a tidy up.

Sunday, May 11, 2003

Sunday 11/05/03 by Phil Newton

It's the last day of the Premiership football season. Bennett is already facing up to next season in the 2nd Division, but what about the rest of us? Did Everton qualify for the UEFA Cup? No. Were West Ham relegated? Yes. Were Manchester United champions? Yes. We all give Dom a slap.

Saturday, May 10, 2003

Saturday 10/05/03 by Helen Chown

Missing 3/6. This was another picture of me in the Pavilion Theatre on Box Office duty, this time taken by one of the Stewards, Helen. Truprint have royally screwed up this project and they don't give a damn about it.

Friday 09/05/03 by Phil Newton

Dave finally returns home after his five month holiday in Thailand. We reunite at our mate Andrew's flat in Hove. Andrew works as a professional photographer and I am indebted to him for his help in getting these photos scanned onto disk. You can view some examples of his work here.

Thursday, May 08, 2003

Thursday 08/05/03 by Bev Parke

That grumpy old man Lou Reed, he was cracking jokes all last night! The Brighton Festival is finally taking its toll on my sanity.

Wednesday, May 07, 2003

Wednesday 07/05/03 by Jim Turner

Missing 2/6. Continued... Well they refunded my money but they didn't bother to reprint my photos. So I sent the negatives back for a second time. This time they lost my negatives on site and mislaid my six prints too. C***s! There's another typical Box Office picture lost forever.

Tuesday, May 06, 2003

Tuesday 06/05/03 by Jim Turner

Missing 1/6. This was the standard at-my-desk picture, had you been able to view it. So here's the story. Truprint developed this batch of prints but they made a lousy job of it. I sent the negatives back along with six prints as examples, for them to reprint the whole set... to be continued tomorrow.

Monday 05/05/03 by Ruth Goodall

May Day Bank Holiday is almost a carbon copy of Saturday as I find myself back in the Pavilion Theatre with Ruth in charge of the camera again.

Sunday, May 04, 2003

Sunday 04/05/03 by Dominic Plucknett

With the Festival now up and running we're working six days a week. Bennett is up in Grimsby watching Brighton fight for survival in the 1st Division. Dom and I are happy to lend our support and escape to the Waggon & Horses to watch the second half on TV. Sadly Brighton can only manage a 2-2 draw so are relegated.

Saturday, May 03, 2003

Saturday 03/05/03 by Ruth Goodall

It's the opening day of Brighton Festival, so here I am in my new purple festival t-shirt manning the Box Office next door in the Pavilion Theatre for one of the literary events. Ruth is Duty Manager this afternoon so gets to take my picture.

Friday 02/05/03 by Phil Newton

Sorting through my videos no doubt making more room for my ever expanding DVD collection.

Thursday, May 01, 2003

Thursday 01/05/03 by Dominic Plucknett

I look concerned at Dom's through-the-doorway shot.
