Cup winner Steve Piper receives his trophy from Darren Marks
Congratulations to Steve Piper who was officially crowned our Fantasy Football Cup Winner 2007 yesterday afternoon. Cup organiser Darren Marks conducted the trophy presentation ceremony at Fantasy Footy HQ which was followed by celebratory drinks at the Waggon immediately afterwards.
Another Fantasy Football season comes to a close with success for my own Dirty Everton team this time around. Leading for all but two weeks of the season I decimated all-comers, finishing a massive 130 pts clear of the opposition, so taking the £50 top prize and the winner's medal. Bennett again displayed his consistency finishing in 2nd place for the third year in succession, ahead of Wingco in 3rd and Zoe taking the final prize winners' spot in 4th position. Last year's winner Darren finished 9th whilst two-time medal winner Dom was a lowly 18th.
In our Fantasy Football Cup competition it was congratulations to Steve Piper who pipped Wingco to the trophy after a nailbiting replay.
Fantasy Football (in association with The Daily Telegraph) will return in August.

It's been really manic this week so I haven't had much time for blogging, so tonight I thought I'd just post a round up of loose items I've been meaning to mention for the last few days...
The 30-Second Bunnies Theatre have added some new productions to their site including their versions of The Ring and Borat. You can see them at the Angry Alien website here.
Next up, an addition to my links section. The very lovely Tatiana (left) has a new blog up and running called Savatra and it's not about music.
Instead it's focussing on "organic living, spiritual wellness, physical health and the quest to live life more simply".
You should read it because Tatiana is the best.
Football news... our annual office Fantasy Football competition continues apace with my Dirty Everton team still heading the pack, currently 86 pts clear. Last week we held the draw for the 2nd round of our Fantasy League Cup (which, ahem, I was cruelly knocked out of in the 1st round...) in the Waggon and Darren recorded all the action live. Yes, it's fact... Rocky is an Evertonian! In one of the more bizarre moments as a lifelong toffees fan, I switched on Sky Sports yesterday to see Sylvester Stallone turn up to watch the match against Reading as a guest of the club's chairman, Robert Earl, a long-time friend. "I'm definitely going back," he later told The Independent, "And yes, I'm an Everton fan now." On the game itself, which finished 1-1, Sly sagely remarked, "The Reading goal was so questionable, being offside, or whatever." A future career in football punditry surely awaits the great man, once he's finished shooting Rambo IV of course.
Rumours that Everton have signed the former Escape To Victory goalie as back up for Tim Howard are unconfirmed at this time.
